I Stared
You stopped, I stared
And wondered what it's like to be over there
The sun gleamed and the moon smiled
All I know is that - it's going to take awhile
The larks sang and my heart beat
Everything seemed so complete
To my eyes and over the land
Faraway an outstretched hand
Waiting, and near
But far, yet clear
Sunlight lit the hidden trail..where the ocean dips into the bay
I bid goodbye but hello to a better day

I wrote this poem back when I was around 11 years old. At the time -- I was experiencing one of the hardest transitions in my teenage life. Poetry was my escape from reality, and I hope it would be yours too.
