What I Live For
I look at you with greed in my eyes,
like a poor man does with gold.
I grab my secret soy sauce
and overwhelm
you with liquid heaven.
I fiddle with my chopsticks
and look at the wrapper,
trying to understand
the panda showing me how to use them.
I pick up the unagi roll
and put it in my clambering mouth—
savoring the cold eel like a fish with a worm.
I finish off the rest of your succulent
juices. I want more but my stomach
says no.
I am satisfied.
