The Way
It seems in society today
There is only one way:
"If you think you can succeed,
You can change things forever.
But, if you can be defeated,
You won't even be remembered."
So, I propose a new way
Another sudden lifestyle change
Without "SWAG" or "YOLO" for
What do those even mean anymore?
I've decided to make my own way
To make these rules a thing of yesterday
And even you can help
How? JUST BE YOURSELF!
Society puts so much pressure
Into being beautiful and better
They provide us the tools
To follow or break the rules
Yet, we don't break down these walls
Since we're addicted to watching people fall
If we try, we can work together for true peace
A little love and tenderness is all we really need
Tolerance doesn't mean "accept my beliefs or else"
It's more of a cry out for anybody help
Anybody that's ever wanted to reach a goal
But knew they couldn't do it on their own
Try to exceed the expectations
And rebuild our lost, fallen nation
It all starts when you can't take it anymore
When following the rules becomes a chore
So, we grip the edges
And expand our fences
Until sooner or later
We silence the debaters
And shed light a brighter today
Because apparently, that's the ONLY way
War only occurs if there's a disagreement
So let's use trust as our sealant
A perfect bind
For all mankind
But, unfortunately, I DO know
I can't do this if I'm alone
So tell me honestly:
Are you with me?
