Life on a Page
Have you ever felt lost and confused?
Dazed and amused,
As you looked back on the pages of your life?
How about worried and afraid,
Tired and ashamed,
After the long journey of strife?
Wishing, hoping, praying,
Dreaming of the day when,
You could replace your mistakes
With success not regrets,
Be forgiven for childhood ignorance that you could not change,
And given credit for victories you've gained.
Be sad without the fear of the repercussions of your actions;
Running into arms of comfort and love,
Not to be shoved,
Into tattered fist from swollen lips,
And bloody noses;
A tear always poses, a silent threat.
Memory lane,
Filled with struggles and pain;
Obstacles to your left and to your right,
Enduring fight after fight,
Still pushing on.
Pages scarred like skin,
Reflecting my every sin;
So used to wearing my heart on my sleeve,
It’s hard to believe,
That my soul is gone.
So have you ever felt lost and confused?
Dazed and amused,
As you looked back on the pages of your life?
How about worried and afraid,
Tired and ashamed,
After the long journey of strife?
