Storm
Flash, crash, bang
The skies are going insane
with the sky a deep blue with streaks of white
and the rain hammering down on this scary summer night
I find comfort in my bed under blankets and pillows
All wrapped up keeping my eyes off the windows
my mom soothes my terror and tells me it's alright
while my dog curls up next to me and I hug her tight
my eyes start to fall and my mind begins to creep
my muscles let go as I fall fast asleep
we all hope and wish that soon the storm will be done
and we wake up to a frewsh morning with the brilliant rising sun.
