I Believe/Truth
I believe in nothing.
Not the end and not the start.
I believe in nothing.
Not the Earth and not the stars.
I believe in nothing.
Not the day and not the dark.
I believe in nothing,
but the beating of our hearts.
I reside in the world of the living, or so they call it.
Where all the stares are blank and dead, no glimpse of life in those empty heads.
A mask for every face, judgment and lies all you'll take.
I believe in nothing.
Not in peace and not in war.
Friends and enemies, only seen through a veil of all black and white.
As life seeps through hands like sand and time passes without a whisper on the wind.
You try to remember the moment of a time of a reality you tried to forget.
I believe in nothing.
When the day finally comes where you stand at the edge, and finally you can see colour through unclouded eyes, hold out your hand and leave the world of "what if" and black and white.
Join the hidden and unseen ranks of those who don't hide behind masks, where a word can still hold its innocence and shine with truth, without a past.
I believe in nothing but the truth of who we are.
