RED

Red is hot and spicy
and bloody and dangerous.

Red is sun and fire
and lava and clay.

Red is sunburn and frostbite.

Red is the Beefsteak tomatoes of summer
and the burnt leaves of fall.
Red is the blooming geraniums of spring
and the holly berries of winter.

Red is lightening fast and a sudden stop.

Red is apple pie, cherry cobbler,
raspberry tea and strawberry ice cream.

Red is Kirkwood Pioneers and St. Louis Cardinals.

Red is the speed of a fast ball and the heat of a flame.
Red is challenge in a tiger’s eye and compassion in a Valentine.

YELLOW

Yellow is the ribbon in the middle of a road
and the star at the top of a tree.

Yellow is the felt on the shell of a tennis ball
and the yolk in the shell of an egg.

Yellow is a No. 2 pencil, a highlighter and a post-it note.
Yellow is the Cheerios box and McDonald’s arches.

Yellow is hesitation, caution and cowardly.
Yellow is happy, bright and brilliant.

Yellow is vanilla-raisin bread pudding, home-grown corn on the cob, fresh-squeezed lemon aid and sunny-side up eggs.

Yellow is a welcome from a porch lantern
and security from a child’s nightlight.

Yellow is the flame of a birthday candle
and a twinkle on a Christmas tree.

Yellow is a rubber duck in a tub
and a feathery finch at a feeder.

Yellow is a Retriever and his spot in the snow.

BLUE

Blue is cool.

Blue is loyal and true.

Blue is sad and moody.

Blue is primary and first place,
and it’s blue blooded and royal.

Blue is boy.
Blue is a whale, a jay and a terrier.

Blue is jeans, collar and a blazer.

Blue is a hockey note and a jazzy tune.

Blue is global and interstate.

Blue is navy and marine
and patriotic and postal.

Blue is the bright Colorado sky above the snowy mountains,
and the clear Florida gulf at the sandy shore.

Blue is vigilance, perseverance and justice.

I feel in love with the lovely description of each of the colors...they were true expressions from the heart and from the writers experiences.  I could feel each of the colors vividly.
