Do you know what you do to me?
The power is great like the oceans waves
drowning or swimming or sinking in the sea
the beauty of it is the way she's saved

a lonely miracle
the night swallows her
the whirlwind is almost cured by the man she once called brave

and then there's love
like there always is
and then there's legs and skin and sweat and sheets and tongues made of lukewarm and bittersweet
and beauty and decay and something that's making my
bones.
melt.
away.
dust
sit there with your ivory hands, sit there so breakable you,
and begin to understand
stinging, still singing, there are birds stained green from the leaves
familiarity, comfort in the most earth shattering keys
it's minor, as in piano
as in swiftly moving fingers digging in the debris

I could say searching but what's the use?
everything's fallen around you and there goes your head- kerplunk, bonk, splat.
so i'm in a tree house
and that's the only place I've been
with dumbo and red hair and the world too big to stay locked in

i'm a child, please have me. accept me with the change
there's nothing marking me different, walking like all, feet dirty, rattling chains.
take me with the wind
and sell me like you do with the pain.
