Chicken for Dinner
There goes a chicken running by.
All I can think is “dinner”.
I take out the ax and cut off the head
Then I drain the blood.
I pluck off the feathers.
Now it’s time to get cooked.
I heave the limp, headless bird on the grill.
Flames lick at the dead poultry.
I throw it on my plate and tear into the meat.
It tastes delicious.
