I saw that tragic message
And my heart did a stop
I didn't want to read it
But my curiosity got the best of me
I went numb while reading
I felt like I could die
The news wasn't good
Not at all
I sat there rereading
Because I knew it couldn't be true
Then I felt the hot drops of tears
Flowing down my face
Absent-mindedly crying
Shocked
Trying to hide behind my hands
Wiping my face fast
Responding to the message

Hard to pull myself together

Hoping that my words were taken to heart
Sitting there feeling confused
The moment when I knew I couldn't hold it together anymore
It is hard to know
I won't see your smiling face
Hard to realize this has happened
So here I sit
Going through it
Over and over in my mind
Still not believing it
They say the strong don't cry
What if the strong always cry?
Please don't let me have these thoughts
Come back to me

I beg

My life was hit hard
Don't let evil win
Don't let yourself die
Don't turn your back on me
Don't let me hear your shoes growing distant
