You never noticed That I Was There
March 8, 2013
When I would see you in the hallways,
And look at you for a long time,
That meant that I wanted you to say hi,
But you never did,
Or when I sent you a message,
That was meant for you to start a conversation,
But you never did,
When I would dress up and look pretty,
You never noticed,
When I would cry in front of you,
You never cared,
When I tried to be someone else,
You never looked at me and smiled,
Now when I try to move on,
You ask why I changed,
I answered I have someone to share my life with,
And you turned around and said,
I thought that was me.

This poem makes me feel sad with a hint of understanding, because having been on both sides, I can see the story behind it in clear detail.

I loved your peice, especially because it works in from a different viewpoint, too. When I read this, I thought it was something yo wrote about your father, because tht's how I relate to it. I think it's always a good thing when a peice of writing doesn't have one set way that it works, because different people relate to it in different ways. Nice job!
Boys are so stupid and annoying I hate it when they catch you off- guard like that! I know exactly what you're talking about its so frustrating! This is an awesome poem, you are able to put all of the annoyed and confused feelings into one thing that is clear and beautiful. Love it!
