A Shoe
Yes I am a shoe,
I know,
Exciting.
I sit there in a box,
Just waiting,
Waiting for the right size,
The right taste in color and style.
Then when it finally shows up...
I wish I were still waiting.
The minute I am outside that store,
BAM, I have met my enemy.
The ground,
Oh that cold hard ground.
I get cut by rocks,
Stuck in gum,
And worst of all,
Our little friends that I thought,
We're supposed to be in something called...
A toilet.
Some may say,
That I am just a grumpy old shoe.
But they have never met a dog.
When I try to explain it to the other shoes,
They think that a dog is lovable and what not.
Ehhhh I don't know how that works.
I mean how is getting licked,
And picked up,
And thrown who knows where FUN.
I tell you,
If you ever meet a genie,
And he gives you three wishes,
Don't ever,
Never,
Wish to be
A shoe.
