Disappointments on a snowy afternoon
The white snow covers the dark dirt
But only until it thaws
Who I am is constantly haunted by
Who I could be
and
Who I’ve been
My passionate obsession to be extraordinary
Consumes me
To the point where even mediocrity is a challenge
The sun comes out to light the world
But at what cost?
The snow has melted
The peacefulness it brought was deceiving,
Ephemeral at best
Once again I am left to face the dark dirt that is
My life.
