The Flower Garden
A blossom in a graveyard,
with love everlasting,
A white rose because of your hidden, but remarkable affection.
An influence of good character to me.
A root in the ground,
with a caring correction,
Like a thorn at times, but only to look after me.
A way of life and provision.
The light in the sky,
With aid and consistency.
Just as the Sun
because you were there to shine on me
You taught me that even the sun goes down,
But only to rise again.
You spoke to me as would the rain,
So your words grew on me from within
And I knew even though our time could never run out,
We all must stop, to start again.
Now, you have withered away, pulled out, flickered and died.
As the days go by, I know you are still by my side
to watch my life and see me bloom,
make my root and shine my light.
