Fade.
She slumbers silently
Dreaming of past days
When the earth vibrant green
The clear sea water reflects white and blue
Where she would run barefoot, tumble, and play
Scaling the tall leafy trees to hear the birds sing
Then sitting in church on Sunday.
Slowly smiles fade
While ashes fall and her world is changed
Everything she has ever known
Now torn, burnt, and thrown away.
The air becomes thick and grey,
Colors merge and darken
A window presents a cool dark blue,
An escape from the burning reality
Diving into a world with no gravity
A smile, a wave, she flies away.
