Dear You
Isn’t it lovely
How the ocean will always
Crawl back to shore
No matter how many times they are separated.
I have old jam jars full of lost fragments of sea glass
And shells.
During the night
When the hours drip past
I’ll unlock my shelter
And let the ocean shush me to sleep.
Like it does every moment.
I’ll put the sea glass to the sky
And look through to the stars
As It is my way into another world.
My jam jar
Has so much memory in just a small space
That even toast can’t scrape it out.
