Puppy Love
The light peered through the gaped curtains.
It gently crashed onto the sleeping dogs’ fuzzy forehead.
Still in bed, the warmth brought up a stir to awake.
Soon to come is the ruckus he will make.
Standing up stretching, looks for a bone, he will soon be fetching.
The fresh yellow fur swayed as he run, knowing the day is no
closer to done.
He fiercely galloped through the lush green grass, waiting for
the graceful clouds above to pass.
Rolling and scratching, the grass he was snatching.
Barking as he ran, chasing the mailman.
Just wanting to play, he scared him away.
His nails clicked on the hard, black pavement.
And away he went.
He sprawled out on the carpet by the fierce fire.
Watching the humans around him perspire.
His day would start all over again soon, but
“Goodnight!” he barked. Wake me at noon
