a tenacious love

she is the light
and he is the dark
polar opposites
different yet akin
their love is vicious
pure and raw
subtle in the eye of the public
but fierce in their privacy
their love
tenacious and fierce
but wholly forbidden
and they branch away
for she is the light
and he is the dark
it fades
to a dull ache
a tired smile
a half forgotten dream
it fades as youth does
slowly but surely
