Orchestra
A light shines in a distant corner
As the orchestra is called to order
Heaven from earth begins to ease
As the pianist hits the keys
Water rushes from the ground
The trumpets have begun to sound
Plants and animals start to grow
With the working of the bow
Beasts’ eyes fade to yellow
As the piece starts the cello
Birds take flight, begin to soar
The pace increases ever more
Empires rise, soldiers battle
With percussion’s staccato rattle
Villains and heroes squabble and fight
The woodwinds play, always light
Endings come, conflicts cease
Along with the slowing beats
A world passes to peaceful slumber
The audience applauds a favored number
A world has started, then has thrived
For music brings all things alive
