Live, Love, Laugh, and Forget
Live, love, laugh, and forget
Was a motto of mine
I used to say it was a shield
That I used to protect myself from misery
Live, love, laugh, and forget
Live through the pain and laugh in its face
Was the first commandment
And the first defense to be defeated
Live, love, laugh, and forget
Love, defense against loss and salve for anguish
But when the repercussions of lost love arrive
You wish the salve was never applied
Live, love, laugh, and forget
When all else fails to stop the misery
Forget the past and burn all bridges connected with the pain
But misery is only slowed by this final defense
Live, love, laugh, and forget
Was a motto of mine, that I claimed a solid defense
But in the end it only delayed and worsened the pain
And left a shell of false joy filled with deep sadness inside
