"Light"
Trees swaying in the wind,
running through the uncut grass,
dirtying my feet before the day is over
Waiting for the quiet darkness to cover the trees.
The nigh sky is a blanket that covers the field anticipating the arrival
of the timid fireflies to come out of hiding
I wait enveloped in blanket of the deep summer night
wanting to catch one of the magical creatures that dance through the night sky and bring light into my dark surroundings
waiting
waiting
waiting
until all of a sudden
I see the shining bright light
this tiny little light
that is glowing from one tiny firefly
suddenly makes me realize that
no matter how dark it is
there can always be a light that shines bright
even in the darkest of nights
