I Am A Tree

Tree
I am me
Just like a tree
I stand tall thinking
While birds go by winking
I am a tree
Wishing I could be free
Roots hold me to the ground
I simply do not make a sound
Because I am me
I am a tree
Surrounded by my leaves
Around my roots, the grass weaves
But there is one small explanation
For unheard exclamations
Because I am a tree
I am me
Living my life
Through worrisome strife
Though I will always be a tree
In my heart I am free
