The Wait
He sits waiting, thinking how everything went. Clenching onto the arm of the chair impatiently. Watching the clock tick tick tick. Hour after hour. Minute after minute. Finally walks out a lady dressed in white with light features. She waves him over. Emotionless he stands. Watery tears fill his eyes. Everything flashed before his eyes. To when he was just a child. When his mother would care for him when he was hurt, and cuddle him when he was scared. He dropped to the cold tiled floor. Begging for dear life. Why? He plead. As his mother lay with a slight grin of peace.
