Broken Rememberance
I remember all those times
you held me close and
told me everything will be okay.
You set aside your pain
for a moment to
remove mine.
You lifted the weight
off my shoulders and
added it to yours.
And when the monsters
became too much
you were always there
to chase them away.
Nothing mattered more
to you
than me being okay.
But I should have known
that wouldn’t last
forever.
Because now
all I’m left with
are pieces of yesterday.
