Beauty
Beauty is only skin deep,
So, let's take a peep.
The flowers that bloom,
Against the tomb.
As the woman lies against it, weeping,
As her husband is beneath it, sleeping.
This is beautiful,
I believe this is true,
Because her love for him,
Is not dim.
I see the children playing,
Now I am saying,
This is beautiful because the smiles and laughs I see,
Their faces full of glee.
Two men holding hands,
I see no wedding bands,
This is a sad beautiful,
This is true,
They wait hopefully to fully show their love,
Though this is hardly spoken of.
These things I would not get rid of,
Like a mourning dove,
I am saddened to think of what people miss,
How can they not see this bliss?
This I believe is beauty,
This I believe truly.
