I feel the desire to fly to rise above the clouds
The need to escape the frivolity of shallow life
Pressures from every turn I run
If only to yearn for anything away from here
To know what it feels to conquer when disadvantaged
For victory to soar star high for aspirations

I wish to be released
Relinquished from my shift in watchful duty
In care to find myself to dig and pick at my own mind
To explore new means of discovery
Shovel through my heart to understand the void
The desire enflames to think to myself

Media however desires a gilded cage
Never to exceed am I
A point I can not cross nears with every stride
Every dream comes crashing
Independence crumbles and struggles for a voice
Freedom of self runs short with bars in the round

Underestimated since day one, meant to stay that way until
Awakened to think and use for yourself to better improve the fate
Adventure awaits only those who dare
With this realization a note to
Remember I should not fly too high

To be free I strive to try
Honor I have to stand alone
Strength to break the bars of prison
Pain or poison of release
That was what I forgot when
The flames enveloped to burn
Lost to time and ashes become I
Apart of the ultimate equalizer

I arise again from the ashes
Without pain, renewed alive
Clean and primed for the challenge
