Miss Havisham
I saw a broken clock on the wall today,
 The hands stuck on 8:40.
 One alarm bell snapped,one
 leg too.
It lay on its back with its silent hands
 never ticking.
Picking it up, the broken glass
 eat
 my white skin.
I screamed because the blood red
and all I know is white. Shuddered my yellowing wedding dress
their knocking hands at my door, waiting for my corpse, to be presented on a platter
Like my wedding cake, presented on a platter.
They think I'm lying on my back, alarm bell snapped, one
leg too. hands stuck in 8:40.
But I don't lie on my back with its silent hands. in a minute I will walk down the stairs and marry
 my beloved.
But no, I am lying on my back.
 Broken. Spinster.
