if you woke up today, only with what you thanked God for yesterday, what would you have?

The dead millionaire
If I had a dollar for every time I faked a smile, I would be a millionaire
I can’t spend that money though
I am now dead, and all you do is stare

The cuts on my wrist, I cover, and you glare
I put my mask on every day and tell myself to go
If I had a dollar for every time I faked a smile, I would be a millionaire

I am not myself; you notice and just treat me like I’m air
I smile on the outside but tears run through me ever so
I am now dead, and all you do is stare

It’s just a scratch, and my allergies are acting up, I just can’t share
I cry, I don’t eat, I am never perfect enough, and how could I have ever gotten to a level so low
If I had a dollar for every time I fake a smile I would be a millionaire

Help! Someone help! I plead my life, but no one cares
I am not good enough, I will never be; why am I on the earth if just to cry ever so?
I am now dead, and all you do is stare

I wish I was someone different, it just not fair
I put on my mask, I covered up my scares, I wish someone had known
If I had a dollar for every time I fake a smile, I would be a millionaire
I am now dead, and all you do is stare.
