A Monster Lurks
A monster lurks
 Whispering in my ear
 Encouraging every doubt
 And feeding every fear
 He blocks everything else
Until he is all I hear

 A monster lurks
 Whispering such horrid lie
 His voice so very alluring
 His tongue so very sly
 Drowning me in misery
 And I can't even cry

 A monster lurks
 A whispering moan
 "Why would anyone care
 if you were all alone?"
"Stop it, stop it" I say
And made my heart of stone

 A monster lurks
 Whispers poison my mind
 Looking for the way out
But he is all I can find
 His noxious gas keeps me
 So alone and so confined

 A monster lurks
 Whispering in terrible glee
Even as hard as I try
I can't seem to break free
Funny how I am so controlled
 By a being I can't even see

 A monster lurks
 I can feel him there
 I know I can't win
 He's not playing fair
 My mind, his fortress
 My fears, his lairs

 A monster lurks
 Both day and night
 He keeps me disarmed
 So I can't even fight
 Filling my sight with darkness
 I can't see the light

 A monster lurk
 His identity remains a mystery
 A monster lurks
 Using only deceit and trickery
 A monster lurks
 Battling for the final victory
