A Letter From Myself
Think back several years from now. Four…five…
To a time when life was full of simplicity
And you were inexperienced,
A naïve young child confined in the
Clutches of an oppressive society
That attempted to silence your
Outspoken words.
Shunned by a world whose view
Of perfection was clouded by
And endless shadow of prejudice
And caused you to collapse.
You rise.
Dust yourself off.
Wipe away the
Traces of your every flaw
And arrange a smile upon your lips.
You appear unscathed
Though, the scars run deep.
And you are never the same again.
