Look At Me
look at me,
what do you see?
a pretty face,
pretty smile,
A prefect girl, approximately.
i look in the mirror,
am i looking at me?
they say "she's pretty!"
but who is "she"?
i see mistakes,
i see scars,
imperfections all the way.
"she" can't be me,
i'm not pretty,
I'm not pretty like they say.
the only thing i DO see,
the eyes staring back at me,
with no mouth to speak,
they're saying what they see in me.
"this girl could go far,
but too low, she sets her bar."
i try to be confident,
still figuring out who i am.
a poet with scrambled words.
hard to put together,
this incomplete slam.
