Mothers and Daughters
You just don’t get me
so
please let me be
I’m not like other girls
I don’t mind dirt
or
bugs
I don’t curl my hair
or
pin up into messy buns
I’ve never wore makeup
and
I don’t own a single dress
I hate shopping for shoes
and
Jewelry’s a mess
No I’m not like most girls
I love camping
and
hunting
Swimming in rivers
and
fishing are awesome
I have scars
and
bruises I proudly show off
I don’t mind skinned knees
or
climbing in huge trees
I’m loud
and
obnoxious
I love to have fun
and
animals are my passion
Although, I’m not the daughter you wanted me to be
I love being me
and
that's all that ever really counts
