Constellations
There’s a picture on my desk
Of a sea of smiling eyes
A woven, incorrigible circle
Shining stars in the sky
There’s a story in my mind
Of a beautiful beginning
A tie for all of eternity
A power hard to imagine
I’d rather walk in the shadow
With stars by my side
Than glow in the sunlight
With only the wind
To hear my cry
But as the bell tolls
In the summer breeze
It’s time to say goodbye
A feat so hard to accomplish
With the memories still alive
I can only find consolation
In the magic before my eyes
Of a bond so adamant
An intransigent picture
Because while our paths
Are not set in stone
With more splits to come
What we’ve created
Is here to stay
And shine
Like constellations in the sky
