“She seems so cool, so focused, so quiet, yet her eyes remain fixed upon the horizon. You think you know all there is to know about her immediately upon meeting her, but everything you think you know is wrong. Passion flows through her like a river."

When do we lose sight of the troubles of adolescence?
When does our sympathy and understanding turn into hostility and close mindedness?
When do we become so developed that we stop growing, stop learning?
When do we stop caring?
They say you can judge a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him
They say do unto others as you would have done unto you
They say all these things
as they step on the tips of our toes
so we cannot tread lightly
then scold us for making too much noise
as we stomp through life
knocking down vases and leaving tracks
They say we need to leave our mark on the world
then they tell us to get down on our hands and knees and scrub
When do we see?
When do we rise?
When do we wake?
When do we forget what it's like to be young?
And why?
Because I don't want to.

The only thing worse than teenagers feeling like outcasts is that we're treated like outcasts.
