Bright Flakes
Bright flakes fall from the stars
on a cold winter night.
Like memories within my heart,
of a long forgotten life.
They nestle frozen on the ground
and start to melt away,
but memories are not so fragile,
and survive the warmth of day.
Never to fade or disappear
like the ice that melts in the sun,
my memories, forever here,
shall never be undone.
