An Introduction to Rust and Beauty
She said
she didn't want to say hi
 didn't want to introduce herself
 because she was afraid
 that I wouldn't like her
and I can't get over how beautiful that is
 how poetic
 in such a strange way
 the way rust is beautiful
 in just the right light
 she said
 that I seem nice
 that I'm really pretty
and I don't understand this power
I don't know what this means
I don't know how to feel
 or what to do
 all I know is
 I want to know
I want to know (so very much)
 what she thinks about herself
 that makes her think
 that I won't like her
 I want to know
 what about me
 makes me pretty
 but I guess
every one's pretty in the right light
 even rust
