Mistakes
I used to be clingy
Holding on to every second I had with you, fearing that one day soon would be the last.
All of my suspicions were confirmed the day you left
without a single goodbye
and never came back.
I was expecting it,
But that didn't stop the pain from consuming my body
And my mind telling me it was my fault--
That you need space
and you weren't ready for a commitment as big as me.
And so now I've learned from my mistakes:
Stay detached.
Don't get too close.
Because you can never really mend a broken heart.
