Curiosity Killed The Teenagers

The burn hit me before the fire did
And the smoke came 3 days after
I stared at the crushed heart in the crushed mirror
And thought, what really matters?
I kept remembering what my mother said
That God will guide you through
But tell me who God is
And explain what he is going to do
I’m in a situation
Where the blood rushed from my toes
And went straight to the chewed fingernails
And out my arms it eased
But as I sleep in my own bed
Every consecutive day of the week
I realize that I should be grateful for all I have
If only I wasn’t so weak.
