butterfly
You used to think that happiness was something simply to possess
Now you see the pain that's behind its happy veil
The work it takes to get there
the blood that's spilled to win
A war that's never ending
The never ending disease.
the hope you long to have
Drawn across your skin
one day those butterflies will fly away
You'll no longer need the butterflies
to keep the harm away
You've finally found the love
You longed for all the day
The pain it still returns
but it no longer brings you down
Your frame won't shake with want
To take your dying breath.
One day this will be yours
It's what you're fighting for.
