My Boardwalk is Gone
I miss it
The games and food
My favorite family event
When we went down
To Jersey’s shore
Hot days
Walking along
What they called
The boardwalk
It’s gone now
Out to sea
My boardwalk went
In the storm
Old Sandy
Sent
The beautiful seashore
Sand between my toes
The boardwalk’s
Strong frame
Looming in the background
But, in that storm
That came and went
My boardwalk left me
Forever to sea
I’ll go back there one day
When everything is new
But it won’t be the same
Without my boardwalk
