For Years
For years I've walked, I've
wandered, I've pondered,
I've sat, and I've learned.But
still the pain is all I see.
Pain, confusion,illusion, and
shame.I don't know why we
continue to play this endless
game. Can you help us? Can
you pull us out from the ditch
we dug ever so happily?
Can you save us? Can you show
us another way? It's truly never-
ending, the suffering and all it
brings us.
Manipulation and guilt the
nightmares we welcome with
open arms. Who are we? What
are we that we can survive here,
in this world of loss? What do we
gain from our scorn of beauty
and luster of evil? How can we
be happy here in this confined
space so full of emptiness?
Why do we want to stay in the
suffocation of ourselves?
