Drowning
The turbulence of the ocean rushes into her.
Dragging her. Deeper and deeper.
Her screams deafened by the never ending waterfall.
Every gasp for air, every fight for survival,
Killed instantly by the waves curling around her,
An octopus holding onto its prey.
The bubbles escape her.
Her rose lips lose turn the same color as the deep.
The last ray of sunlight,
extinguished as her eyes droop down.
She’s done fighting.
