Yesterday
Yesterday I was driving on the highway
En route to see my boyfriend who's far far away
I grabbed my phone to read his text
I will never forget what happened next
I looked at the road to see a light in my face
The car speeding at me, a high rate pace
I heard all the horns blaring at me
Telling me to go where I should be
I desperately tried to get back in my lane
Then the car hit me causing unbearable pain
My head slammed forward onto the wheel
But that was not all the pain I would feel
I was thrown hard into the door
As I felt my head crack and start seeping with gore
Then another car hit, this time from behind
I was absolutely sure my life was on the line
I flew through the windshield the glass cutting in
It was like being pricked by a million pins
Airborne I was until I fell in a heap
Praying to God my life I could keep
As I lay there dying one last message I sent
Hoping he understood exactly what I meant
I finally took my last laborious breath
And was welcomed into the arms of my awaiting death
That message I sent you're curious to see
A last little gift for you from me
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Now I am dead
Because of you
