Sticks And Stones
Bruises, they’ll heal
And I’ll cease to feel
But words continue to haunt me
Bumps are gone
Before too long
But the monikers still cut me
Days I go through
No longer black and blue
In my ears, the words still burn me
In rooms alone
No more breaks in my bone
I believe the words they spit at me
That in all their spite
Maybe they were right
And that belief, it does agonize me
The days have gone past
The malice still lasts
And I think I might also hate me
