Factually Speaking

Facts.

I cannot fully put into words what I am.
I am a self-proclaimed individualist,
I am a biological woman,
I am a self-taught coward,
I am a man made genius.

I am a mix of what I’ve been and what I’ve yet to fully become.
… and that's a fact.

And there are a lot of other facts out there.
Some that have yet to show themselves to me.

I’ve learned though,
that people are evolving.
…and that's a fact.
I am not who I was two minutes ago.
I know this because two minutes ago I was crying
And now I’m just thinking.
Not about much,
but I’m still thinking.

And now I’d like to be dead.
…and that's a fact.

But now I’m back to thinking
because the music's right
and it's pulling on every single thread and fiber of my being
because there are no words,
even in this song.
But even so, I’m dreading the ending
because as of right now, all of my everything is perfectly inside of me.
I don't know what that means.
…and that's a fact.

Even though most people are asleep and everyone I care about is probably asleep, I’m not.
And that's fine.
Because if I were asleep I wouldn't be doing this.
Whatever this is.
But now the music's stopped.
And I don't want the next song to start.
But it did.
And I’m enjoying it anyway.
And I guess that's how life works.
You get used to things and then they have to end at some point
even when you don't want them to.
And whatever comes next, will be a mystery
and you won't always like it at first.
But it'll get better.
…and that's a fact.
