For Mrs. Hogg
I'm thankful for the night,
And the day with its light;
I'm thankful for my friends,
And how their patience never ends.
I'm thankful for not being home,
And for not having to be alone;
I'm thankful for those who prevent strife,
And for everyday of this life.
I'm thankful for the moon and all its stars,
And for each and every one of my scars.
All of these things may seem so mundane,
But in reality, these are the things that keep me sane;
They are the very breath,
Of a life I’d of left.
