Laces
my tiny hands stretching to grasp the football
'cause you never taught me how
when I miss you it's not about the
big things
it's about the empty parking spot and
the things you never had time to do with me
you never taught me how to throw a tight spiral
or how to mow the lawn
and now I have to figure it out all on my own
and I'm mad
'Cause you let go of my hand
and now life is drowning me
but mostly I just miss you
and you'll never know
because how could a beating heart love
a heart of stone
