Have you ever...?
When I was 5 years old
I thought pain was just physical
That hurt was a cut or bruise
That parents never cry
I was wrong
And later after I was diagnosed with the disease
People would say
"I know what your going through."
And I would think
Have you ever seen your mom cry?
Have you ever been in a hospital as a patient?
Have you ever seen your carefree childhood disappear?
Have you ever heard your sister say
"I dont want her to die"?
And ever since then have you ever thought
"I dont want to die"
Because the possibility of it was real?
And then I would say "No, you really don't."
