When I was little,
My thoughts were dancing little creatures.
I was picturing and thinking,
And I just couldn’t stop.
My brain would be clashing and quarreling with itself…
Like a dragonfly stuck in a jar…
That little dragonfly was my mind,
trying to express everything it thought.
But no human could carry out as much as my brain was trying to convey,
So I drew pictures,
I made movies,
I created games,
I made imaginary food,
I created a whole different world within my head.
But my teachers would get mad at me for thinking impossible things,
For not being realistic,
So I tried to stop my imagination,
And now that I can’t be so inventive,
I wish I wouldn’t have stopped thinking those amazing things.

I loved childhood me, and I seem to have lost her on the way to here.
