where only bad memories plague you

where only your lies become truth

the earth is too wide
for your long legs to run

what have you lost
deception is a hard truth
you say to yourself that you
are always the one to be saviour
you don’t need saving
the world is just against you
but why would you believe yourself
when have your lies ever been truths
when you look up you see that beautiful man
and he is as lonely as you
you stumble aside and make some excuse
of how you need to leave
you look at his eyes and all you can see
is heartbreak, regret, and truth
you ditch your half-baked excuse
you walk up to the man
the man you ran for
the man you thought for
and you tell him the truth
